What I have learned...
  • I'm at the age that I had more questions than answers watching the Grammys. Why did that guy have face paint? Gwen and Blake? Why do I not know any of these new people? What's up with the astronaut cowboy? Whoa was that Billy Ray Cyrus?
  • I'm actually excited for the Super Bowl this year!
  • If 'Back to the Future' is on T.V. I can't not watch it.
  • I'm not sure how to take it when a client texted "oh how do you always text/email us back so quickly? Are you reading our minds?'. I think I have set up crazy standards for myself!
  • I was asked if I was "Joshua -The Social Media Agent" today. I found it amusing.
  • At the end of the day, family above all else.
Real News...
  • In 2019 home prices were up again in most markets. Buyer demand continues to be strong but with tepid seller activity still in many locations, total sales are lower than they would normally be in a more balanced market. While up from their recent lows a few months ago, mortgage rates end the year close to three-quarters of a percent lower than a year ago, helping to improve affordability and offset rising home prices.
  • New Listings in Chicagoland were up 4.7 percent for detached homes and 11.9 percent for attached properties. Listings Under Contract increased 16.0 percent for detached homes and 10.3 percent for attached properties.
  • With low mortgage rates, low unemployment, and continued wage growth, home buyer activity is expected to remain healthy into the new year. New construction has been on the rise in 2019 and is expected to continue into 2020, but many experts note that the country is still not building enough new units to quench demand. It remains to be seen whether existing homeowners will be enticed to sell by higher home prices, which could finally bring the overall housing market into greater balance.
**Let me know if there is a specific neighborhood that you would like data for.
