LCME Monthly
Welcome to our monthly newsletter focused on the journey to CNUCOM's full accreditation by the LCME. We hope that this will be both be informative and timely.
Our LCME Full Accreditation site visit is coming! Mark your calendar for March 22-25, 2021!
The Self-Study process involves our own collection, analysis and action plan development as related to our adherence to guidelines set by the LCME. These guidelines are divided into "Standards", each of which includes several specific "Elements" focused on particular aspects of the MD program.

Students' Corner...

Student input is invaluable to the LCME Self-Study process. Part of that input derives from the Independent Student Analysis (ISA)—a student-led assessment of our medical education program that provides direction for programmatic improvement.  If you’re a student, keep an eye on your e-mail for your opportunity to participate in the ISA survey. Questions? Ask one of your colleagues on the ISA Task Force!

Each month, we'll highlight one Standard. This month, it's
Standard 1: Mission, Planning, Organization and Integrity
GET READY!
The Standard 1 Subcommittee is led by Dr. Raj Ramsamooj. Standard 1 has six components ("elements") focused on ensuring that the COM has continuous quality improvement processes in place to monitor its adherence and excellence related to each of the other eleven Standards.
GET SET!
The CNUCOM Continous Quality Improvement process is incorporated into our Strategic Plan. In compliance with Element 1.1, we are focused on specific outcomes related to 10 Elements (out of the 93 total Elements distributed across the 12 LCME Standards).
GO!
To some, strategic planning invokes painful memories of long meetings and little sunlight, while to others it conjures visions of dancing charts and colorful graphs. But regardless of your past experiences, the one thing that is always true – YOU are the most important predictor of strategic planning success, because without you, things cannot improve sustainably.

We are collecting data! If you’re asked to help find the answers to questions/locate documents or policies, or offer an opinion on the state of our current processes, please do! We are compiling our first draft of the DCI (Data Collection Instrument), one of the main documents that will be submitted to the LCME for its review of our MD program.
