Tuesday, February 4, 2020
6:00 – 8:00 pm

Are you wondering what organizations are doing about climate change in Anchorage and beyond and how you can get involved with these activities? Alaska Common Ground is hosting an open house for organizations with a role for Alaskans to directly engage in activities affecting climate change in Alaska. We’ll hear from each organization about their climate change mission, and how you can be involved with their organization.

Presentations will start promptly at 6 pm and last about 45 minutes. After these presentations, you'll be able to find out more by visiting each organization's table. Pizza and beverages available for purchase in the Theater, full restaurant at 49th State. Suggested $10 donation.

We’ll be livestreaming the presentations on Facebook. If you’re unable to attend in person, please join us via Facebook, we’ll be looking for your questions and will follow up with each organization. You'll be able to find the stream on our Facebook page here.

From Conflict to Compromise: Four Mini-Debates on Divergent Paths Facing Alaska Today

Tuesday, February 11, 2020
7:00 – 9:00 pm
49th State Brewing Co
Suggested $10 donation

As projected deficits mount and savings are spent, Alaskans increasingly consider four options to balance the budget. Please join us for four mini-debates featuring advocates who will discuss:
  • making substantial additional budget cuts,
  • relying even more on Permanent Fund earnings,
  • reinstating broad-based taxes, and
  • raising oil taxes.
Speakers will be posted on our Facebook page and website once they are all confirmed.
As you apply for your PFD, please consider adding a donation to Alaska Common Ground through Pick.Click.Give. It’s easy and a great way to support the work we do. Thank you to everyone who donated through the program last year and those who have done so already this year! We appreciate your support.
