Tiffany Panko Named
AAAS IF/Then Ambassador
Tiffany Panko, M.D., M.B.A., postdoctoral researcher in the Rochester Postdoc Partnership, was named one of 125 IF/THEN® ambassadors by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. IF/THEN® seeks to further women in STEM by empowering current innovators and inspiring the next generation of pioneers. UR CTSI Seminar Series: Equity-Focused Dissemination & Implementation
For the first UR CTSI seminar of the spring semester, presenters Kevin Fiscella, M.D., M.P.H., James McMahon, Ph.D., Reza Yousefi Nooraie, Ph.D., M.D., will:
- Introduce the concept of health equity-focused dissemination and implementation (EQ-DI) and why it is important in terms of real-life benefits and funding opportunities
- Review the journey from evidence to dissemination & implementation, challenges, processes and methods
- Discuss CTSA EQ-DI resources and services to support research and practice
- Conclude with a group discussion

The CLIC Common Metrics Initiative, the University of Miami and the CTSI of Southwest Wisconsin are teaming up to host an Insights to Inspire Webinar: The 4 Stages of a Successful Pilot Funding Publication Program. They will share strategies for making program improvements and provide advice on how others can implement similar changes. America’s Got Regulatory Science Talent Student Competition
The America’s Got Regulatory Science Talent student competition is accepting applications until Wednesday, January 29, 5:00 pm. University of Rochester students are welcome to submit a 50-word entry and provide a five-minute presentation during the competition that proposes a solution to a regulatory science issue in one of the FDA Regulatory Science priority areas. The winning team will travel to the Washington, DC/Maryland region to meet with members of the FDA. Learn more.

Public Health Sciences Funding Opportunity
The Department of Public Health Sciences (PHS) is requesting applications for a limited number of research pilot projects. The objective of the pilot project should have a substantial component of or impact on public health sciences, practices or policies. Applicants may request a maximum of $25,000 for the duration of one year and must hold a position of assistant professor or higher. Submit initial proposal abstracts by Friday, January 31. Help Improve clinicaltrials.gov
The National Library of Medicine (NLM) has released a request for information for clinicaltrials.gov. The purpose of this request is to solicit public input to guide the NLM in planning infrastructure enhancements aimed at users of clinicaltrials.gov as part of a multi-year modernization initiative.
Submit ideas and suggestions for how clinicaltrials.gov can be modernized or improved by Saturday, March 14.

CTSA Program Working Group Proposals
The CTSA Program Steering Committee is now accepting proposals for new working groups. To submit a proposal, log on to the Center for Leading Innovation and Collaboration (CLIC) website. Groups or individuals interested in forming a working group are required to propose and deliver well-defined projects or deliverables that fill identified translational gaps and/or further the CTSA Program objectives in high priority areas within clinical and translational science. Any group or individual within the CTSA Program is eligible to submit an application for a working group. Working groups that are approved by the CTSA Program Steering Committee will be supported by CLIC. Email CLIC with any questions. Apply by Friday, January 31.

Geriatric Faculty Scholars
This challenge grant is awarded to early-stage URMC faculty with a specific interest in inter-professional geriatric education and practice. These faculty members will work with a mentor in the Division of Geriatrics & Aging to create and implement a geriatric education program within their own department.
