The Idaho Freedom Fighters are lobbying to remove Common Core educational standards in the state. Common Core refers to educational standards for public schools adopted by over forty states. The House Education Committee overwhelmingly voted against changing the math standards, 13-5.
On Wednesday, The House Education Committee will vote this week wether or not to retain Common Core science standards. Out of the 25 people that showed up to testify, 15 were in support of keeping the standards, 10 opposed. The House Education Committee will be meeting again on Friday for further discussion.
