Oregon Legislators Need to Know We Want a Strong Climate Bill in 2020
LC 19 is the pre-session draft climate bill for this year After it was introduced in the Senate Environment and Natural Resources Committee, the committee was flooded with comments opposed to effective climate action.
The committee needs to know we want strong climate legislation in the 2020 session. There will be opportunities once the session starts for analytical remarks. Right now we need a show of strength with lots of messages from lots of people.
Renew Oregon suggests sending a short comment along these lines:
Say who you are: "I am (a parent, farmer, high school student, rural Oregonian, small biz owner, terrified of climate crisis, etc)"
Say what you want: "I support a strong cap and invest policy / I support LC 19 with improvements for effective climate action / I support strong climate legislation for Oregon's future"
