This Week's Sermon Text....

This Sunday, January 26th, we will continue our study through Paul's letter to the Ephesians. The passage for this week is Ephesians 1:15-23

15 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, 16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might 20 that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. 22 And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.

Save the Date!

Mark your calendars and plan on Fellowship, Food and Fire...(bonfire) on March 6th. More details to come!
You may notice a change or two....

This Sunday, January 26th, is our normal Sunday to celebrate the Lord's Supper (communion). This month we are trying a couple of changes. First, in an effort to allow our children's workers to be able to take communion, we are moving communion from after the sermon to before the greeting and children's sermon time. In addition to allowing the children's workers to take communion, this move will also allow our children to be present during communion. Our hope is that this move will provide new opportunities for our children to ask questions and learn how Jesus is our living bread. As you prepare for communion, please pray for our children, that the Spirit will will use this time and shine brightly upon the grace of God, and that their knowledge of Him will grow.

Secondly, the Elders have decided to do away with the wine option in communion. This means that we now have juice and gluten free bread. This move is purely for practical reasons, allowing more efficiency in set-up and serving communion. If you have questions about either of these changes, please contact Steve at morgan.steveng@gmail.com

Thermal Belt Outreach Opportunity

The Souper Bowl of Caring is a nationwide movement, that started in 1990 to mobilize people to use Super Bowl Sunday as an opportunity to take action in the fight against hunger. This year we're celebrating the 30th anniversary of this grassroots movement!

As part of the Souper Bowl of Caring movement, our local community donates hundreds -- possibly thousands -- of cans of soup (many with dollar bills attached by a rubber band) to Outreach's food pantry during the week after Super Bowl Sunday. This food drive comes at an important time of year for Outreach, a quiet time for donations, but when cans of soup, chili and other warm meals are needed and particularly appreciated by our clients.

It's easy to participate and make a difference:
  • ask your fellow parishioners, friends, co-workers and family members to bring cans of soup, chili, etc. to Super Bowl parties and gatherings
  • host a canned food / donation drive at your church and ask parishioners to bring cans of soup, chili, etc. to church on Sundays during month of January
  • collect the canned items and any monetary donations bring the donated items to Outreach during the week of February 3 (note: the pantry accepts donations between 9:00 a.m and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9:00 am. through noon on Friday)

All food donations will be distributed directly to Polk County residents in need.  As always, thank you for everything you do for Outreach!

Please bring cans of soup to the Theatre lobby. Thermal Belt is also looking for volunteers. If you're interested, please contact Thermal Belt directly.
This Sunday we will sing "What a Savior". Click the above video for a preview.
Grace Groups at Grace exist to enable us to know each other, serve our church and love our community. In other words, to extend the grace of God to our group, our church and our community. Grace Groups are where we put hands and feet to the Gospel reality that is changing us! Grace Groups are an important part of what we DO at Grace.
If you are interested in hosting a Grace Group, or would like to join a Grace Group, please contact Steve at morgan.steveng@gmail.com.

Sunday Mornings: On Sunday mornings, we gather in the Ministry Center for prayer from 10:00-10:30.  During this time we pray for everything that's happening at Grace Foothills Church, for God's will to be done, and for His kingdom to continue to be revealed among us. In addition, we also pray for God's Church in our community and the world.
Financial Stewardship at Grace

The current giving and budgeted giving update can be found each Sunday in our worship bulletin. The giving numbers are updated three weeks after the end of the month.

Our YTD budgeted need through December was $220.000.00. As of the end of December we have received $248,393,00. Please pray that our Father will continue to bless Grace, and that the Deacons and Elders will have wisdom in stewarding these gifts.

Please contact Steve, one of the Ruling Elders, or one of our Deacons, if you have questions. Offering boxes can be found each week at the back of the theater. Also, please consider making your gifts to Grace using online giving.

You can sign up to give online by going here.
