It is always exciting to find out that one of your favorite authors has a new book coming out. Before I list some books that are being published soon, I would like to pay tribute to the popular authors who passed away in 2019.
- Sarah Andrews: Author of the popular Em Hansen forensic geology series.
- M.C. Beaton: British author of Agatha Raisin and Hamish Macbeth mystery series.
- W.E.B. Griffin: Very popular author of several military series.
- Rosamunde Pilcher: Talented writer of romance novels such as the ever popular Shell Seekers.
- Dorothea Benton Frank: Best known for her Lowcountry Tales.
- Judith Krantz: Popular romance author in the past.
- Toni Morrison: Well known African American author who won the Nobel Prize and the Pulitzer Prize.
- Johanna Lindsey: Wrote over fifty national bestselling historical romance novels.
- Anne Rivers Siddons: First gained national attention for being fired from her college newspaper for writing a column advocating integration. She went on to become a well know writer of southern fiction.
The good news is that the novels written by these authors will still be available for readers to enjoy for many years in the future.
New releases scheduled to come out this month are:
- Naked Came The Florida Man by Tim Dorsey, similar to Carl Hiaasen's funny and off the wall Florida mysteries.
- When You See Me by Lisa Gardner.
- Into The Fire by Gregg Hurwitz, number five in the Orphan X series. High tech and violent but I can't resist them.
- The Vanishing, first in a new series (Fogg Lake) by Jane Ann Krentz.
- The Wild One by Nick Petrie. I guarantee that Lee Child fans will love this Peter Ash series (#5).
- Treason by Stuart Woods. Doesn't seem possible but this is #52 in the very popular Stone Barrington series of page turning mystery/suspense novels.
- A Long Petal of the Sea by Isabel Allende, the story of Spanish exiles in Chile during WW11, garnered five stars from the critics.
Just a small sample of what we readers have to look forward to in 2020!
