TIFO's co-founder Dr. Margrit von Braun will be presenting at the UI Renfrew Interdisciplinary Colloquium this week! Join us for her talk: Celebrating Apollo 11 and Lessons From Space for Earth’s Climate Crisis
On July 20, 1969, Apollo 11’s lunar module, Eagle, landed on the Moon’s Sea of Tranquility, and the first humans set foot on the lunar surface. Wernher von Braun served as director of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center and as the chief architect of the Saturn V that propelled the Apollo spacecraft to the Moon. His daughter, Margrit von Braun, will share lessons from Apollo – why and how we got to the moon; lessons from Earth – how pollution and environmental health problems are connected to climate; and how we can apply lessons learned from space and the Apollo mission to our current climate crisis.
When: Tuesday, Jan 21 @ 1230 pm
Where: Whitewater room, University of Idaho Student Union Building (Formerly Idaho Commons)
Free and open to the public.
