PLP Day - Target setting - Friday 24th January
Thank you to all Parents and Carers who attended PLP day. We hope you found the appointment of use and gained a further insight into your child's learning.
Autism Coffee Morning
A big thank you to the many parents that attended, where we discussed puberty and how to support your child through this inevitable phase. An excellent resource was shared which can be accessed at: www.fpa.org.uk/product/talking-together-about-growing-up-pdf-copy
If anyone would like a copy of the PowerPoint used in the presentation, please contact Patsy who can share this with you. We will be holding another Autism focussed coffee morning in the summer term, which is available to all parents, those with or without children on the spectrum.
There is also a coffee morning scheduled on "The Zones of Regulation" so please look out for this in future newsletters.
Thank you!
January O'Donnell
Emergency Contact
Due to a change in safeguarding regulations that came into force at the start of the last academic year, in addition to parent/carer details, we must have at least two other persons as emergency contacts for all our pupils. These people could be parents, a sibling aged over 18, aunts, uncles etc. If you have changed your mobile number or email address, can you advise the school office so we can update our records.
It is vital that we are able to get hold of a contact person in the case of a pupil emergency or illness. In the past we have had issues in contacting parents or guardians, which not only creates concern for the school but also makes pupils anxious.
The Keeping Children Safe in Education September 2019 document guidance has full details.
School Uniform
We have noticed a slip in the school uniform standards across Years 7-11. In particular, the following have started to appear:
Hoodies: (not allowed at all, even during break times and afterschool)
Coloured trainers: (plain black trainers are permitted, but the logo must be marked out)
Tracksuit pants: (must be plain black school trousers or skirt)
T-shirts: (white POLO shirt only - school mentors and council members are given different colours)
Please contact your form tutor if you are having problems with you child wanting to wear the correct school uniform and we will be able to help.
Nut free School
Dear Parents/guardians, please ensure if your child has packed lunches, they do not contain NUTS (Nutella spread, chocolate, yoghurts with nuts inside) We are a nut free zone school. Thank you for your co-operation. There is a section regarding school lunches on our website. Click here for details
