The Medway Catchment
Pesticide Amnesty

Funded by Southern Water and the North Kent Marshes Internal Drainage Board, Medway Valley Countryside Partnership are running a project which offers working farms in the catchment the opportunity to get rid of unwanted and out of date pesticides on a free and confidential basis.

Many farmers have out-of-date or unwanted chemicals in store, which can be costly or awkward to dispose of.  To avoid them getting into our waterways and our water supply, we want to help you remove them safely.

We’re offering free collections for up to 50 litres.  To arrange this, we’ve teamed up with Chem Clear - a specialist chemical waste collection and disposal company.

BOOKING A COLLECTION IS SIMPLE:
1. Check you farm is eligible using the map or by contacting Chem Clear.
2. Hurry.... registration ends on 31st Jan’ 2020.  Contact Chem Clear to arrange a collection asap by calling: 07436076932 or by emailing: chemclearltdamnesty@gmail.com
3. Chem Clear will schedule the collection of the chemicals for February 2020.

You’ll be asked to supply these details:
· Product name(s)
· Active ingredients and concentration
· Weight or volume
· Collection address and contact details for the farmer/landowner
Terms and Conditions:   To qualify, the farmed area must be located within the eligible catchment and it must be a working farm.  This offer is on a first come first served basis as it is time and budget limited.  Whilst not exclusive, priority will be given to farmers who have not previously benefitted from an amnesty scheme. The scheme is confidential in as much as the chemical type and quantity will not be linked to a given farm when the data is provided to the project partners.

Whilst Medway Valley Countryside Partnership may ask to contact you about other conservation projects, rest assured, the registration and collection of chemicals is confidential and will not be linked to farms and contact details.  Chem Clear only need the above information in order to arrange safe collection.
