Meet the Class of 2020: Rich Selinger
 Rich Selinger, Mt. Pulaski, is an Account Manager with Rosens, Inc. He manages and operates a Christmas tree farm which has been in his family for over 50 years. Rich’s career includes being a Location Manager and Sales Lead with the HGN Maroa Ag Center and he was a Crop Specialist with Lakeland FS. He is an Illinois Fertilizer and Chemical Association member, a 15-year Certified Crop Advisor, and is an avid rugby player and current President of the Mt. Pulaski Athletic Association. Rich received an Associate Degree of Science from Lincolnland Community College and a Bachelor of Sciences in Crop Science from the University of Illinois.

Tasha Bunting (IALP '18), Illinois Farm Bureau Assistant Director of Commodities & Livestock Programs, recently shared her thoughts regarding the upcoming Illinois Dairy Summit, which will be held February 4-6. She acknowledges the difficulties dairy farmers have been facing, noting that Illinois is still losing dairy farms due to the difficult market. You can read more here.  


Matt Bennett (IALP '02), of Ag Market, provides advice for farmers hoping for high corn prices. He mentions that while prices may be higher this summer, presenting a greater opportunity for profit, the corn may be too wet to hold until this summer. You can read more here
Alumni Event: Tour of Springfield Plastics and BRANDT Reception
Thank you to Springfield Plastics, and BRANDT for hosting a tour and reception for the Class of 2020 and IALF Alumni and spouses. Our featured speaker for the evening was Dan Sprague of the Maschhoffs, LLC, our seminar sponsor.

The Maschhoffs, LLC State Government Seminar  
The Class of 2020 spent January 15-17 in Springfield to attend the The Maschhoffs, LLC State Government Seminar.  The goals of this seminar were to gain insight into state issues, the legislative process, and public policies; and be able to apply this understanding to the leadership roles they are involved in, and to better understand how agricultural leaders can interact with state government and advance the cause of agriculture and individual businesses.The IALF thanks The Maschhoffs, LLC for their support of this important seminar.
