The occasion was solemn, the solidarity was memorable. Markaz ul Islam, the Islamic Centre of Fort McMurray is inviting the community to “Meet Your Muslim Neighbours” on Saturday, January 25, 2020 to mark the third anniversary of the Sainte-Foy, Quebec City mosque terror attack of January 29, 2017. The attack left six dead, and 19 injured at the hands of Alexandre Bissonnette. The open house will run from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

On behalf of the board of directors, We would like to thank Ibraheem Rana for all his contribution and many initiatives in 2019 as the VP Youth. Due to his busy schedule and commitment with family, he stepped down and won't have much time to help in any capacity. We ask Allah SWT to reward br Ibraheem in this life and on the hereafter.
Board has selected Br. Talal Butt who was on the youth team as one of the best candidates while keeping the board diverse. Sr. Jana Abdo and Br. Rabeet will support Br.Talal since they have been involved with Ibraheem from the beginning. We would like to thank br. Talal for taking on this great challenge and we are confident that he will raise the bar and help our youth to be engaged with Markaz.

Islamic Enhancement Fee

IEF (Islamic Enhancement Fee) is used by Markaz to retain our EA teachers for the Arabic, Quran & Islamic Studies programs. It is also used to support our Islamic/Quran curriculum, licenses and subscriptions. IEF is a genuine form of help and appreciation by an FMIS parent. We request all the parents to make the payment at the Markaz office at your earliest.

Hifz School

Markaz has extended the registration for those parents who missed to include their kids to the first inakte. Please register on the link below and bring your child(ren) to the masjid to attend either:
4 PM or 5 PM class Monday to Thursday at the Masjid
and they will be assigned a teacher based on their level. Parents will need to pay teachers directly every month, If you have any question, please contact Sheikh Maqsood. Please register on the link below:
