January 2020

Welcome to our first Newsletter of 2020. I hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas break.
And I hope that you have continued with the practice of meditation each week in your school. If not, why not begin again this week.
We are now accepting in-service applications for the remainder of this term, so if you know of a school that might like to consider introducing whole-school meditation to their school, please forward this email to them.
Over the past six years our project has introduced over 50,000 children to the practice of meditation. Please help us to spread the good news by sharing this newsletter with a teaching friend outside of your school.
Clicking on the image to the right will lead to a link where they can find out about our free in-service and how to apply.
We love to get feedback on how the practice is going in your school. One sentence will do! Click here to send. Thank you!
This month, you might consider using the song 'I Become What I Receive' from the CD 'Meditation with Children: Songs & Reflections' . The words of the first verse are:
I become what I seek,
I become what I receive.
In Silence I sit
In the Presence of God.
Not to think, just to be
Surrounded by Love
The CD and Songbook are free to all schools in the project. Details of how to claim your free copy were published in the September Newsletter - click here

Aideen (11) witnessed an elderly lady falling to the floor in a shopping centre and saw the people around her ignore her. That is, until one man stepped forward and bent down to help her. Aideen said that made her realise that 'some people enhance their inner God, they let God shine through - and some people don't'. She went on to say ''I use meditation to enhance my inner God, so that God can shine through me.'

In conjunction with Kildare Education Centre, we ran a week-long Summer Course for primary teachers on the theme of Mindfulness, Meditation and the Well-being of the Teacher and Child. It took place in the Presentation Primary School in Kilcock and was a great success. We will be offering the course again this year, from Wed, 1 July to Tue 7 July 2020. Depending on demand, we may offer the course in a second location in August. If you would like to express an interest, click here to let us know and we will email you when application forms become available later in the year.
If you are thinking of retiring next Summer - or have already retired - and would like some deep inner nourishment, you might like to consider the Masters in Applied Christian Spirituality.
The course is delivered in Milltown, South Dublin, over three days each month (on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday) for the academic year.

Applications are made through the website of Waterford Institute of Technology - click here.
