Since I last sent out our ezine, a great deal has happened.

Lots of classes continue from our reduced but very comfortable workshop and we have had a very international mix in our classes. Our class schedule for the remainder of the year is available now to view or book, on our online shop.
Construction continues, most of it on the first fix electrics.
We have awarded our first scholarship and are happy to announce another award offering a free place on a masterclass. You may like to mention this opportunity to a young person you know.

Bowls, bowls, bowls - I have been making a LOT of bowls during classes, travelling and overseeing the construction. Some pieces are for commission and some are available for sale through my online shop.

I will be travelling to the the 🇺🇸 to the DC area and upstate NY in May on a short demo and teaching trip, and look forward to catching up face-to-face with lots of old and new turning friends on the East Coast

Streamlined, my new jacket has no pockets. My own experience, and observing others in the classes, has shown me that pockets fill with shavings, causing problems in the washing machine, and they are likely to get caught in the locking levers of the lathe. This jacket is sealed at the neck, and the wrists in the long sleeve design, so you can work without shavings getting on your clothes and skin. Production of bowls has continued alongside a busy teaching schedule. We have a great selection of bowls I have been working on, from beautiful Olive Ash, to rare Irish Walnut and Spalted Beech, there is a size, a design and a price for everyone, and we can ship worldwide.

Classes in the 'old' workshop

We continue to have private tuition and group classes in the current workshop.

Focus on the basics and refresh your technique? We have a few spaces remaining on our 2-day Refresher class in March and a 1-day refresher in September. This class is suitable for those who have recently acquired a lathe and want to practice and have guidance...OR ...a great refresher class for sharpening and turning techniques if your skills are a little rusty.

Booking is open for private classes this summer and all our group masterclasses are online for training from end of June onwards. Schedule is here for classes in the new workshop

Bookings are open for October 2020 - Benoît Averly will visit the workshop for a 3-day class. And in March 2021 we will have a 2-day Hollow Form class with Phil Irons.

In 2022 we will have a class on how to make an American Shaker Stool with my good friend Willie Simmons from Virginia - watch out for details in my next ezine.

If you wish to book a class with Glenn (group of private) on the shoulder of any of these classes, please let us know and we will ensure you get the most turning out of your trip.

Construction Update

Down to the Wire.
The last few weeks of construction have been all about electrics and getting the first-fix wiring installed.
Our 3-phase electricity is due next month.

Pre-purchase a masterclass and support the workshop development - Woodturning Bond valid for 10 years

We are very grateful for the support for our new workshop that we have received through our Woodturning Bond scheme. Bonds are still available and can be purchased here. All our Bond-holders will have their name on a panel in our new workshop. Here is a small sample of the 'Bond Bricks' for the Bond-holder panel.

A Bond is available through the online shop or over the phone, and payable by credit card or paypal. Woodturning B onds cost from EU€500 (approx US$565) for a 3-day class, to EU€1,000 (approx US$1,125) for a 5-day class and a limited edition platter and photo. Private tuition is available on a mutually agreed day. The Woodturning Bond is valid for 10 years.
