No trains at Hatfield this weekend

As outlined in our previous newsletters, there will be no trains at all at Hatfield this weekend 25-26 Jan.

There will be several hourly buses operating including:
  • To / from St Albans to allow connections to trains there (probably quickest way to London)
  • Between Hitchin and Potters Bars calling at all stations
  • Between Potters Bar and the Piccadilly Line - calling at Hadley Wood, Cockfosters and Oakwood (to allow step free access)
Within London there is ticket acceptance on the Underground and buses via reasonable routes.

Timings are loaded into journey planners, but beware - services will start later and finish earlier than the trains normally do.

For more info see GN / TL websites eg
https://www.greatnorthernrail.com/travel-information/plan-your-journey/planned-engineering-work?date=2020-01-25#engineering-departure-board and the dedicated website https://eastcoastupgrade.co.uk/travel-information/ or ask station staff.

The next closure after that will be the weekend of 29 Feb-1 Mar

Do check on journey planners shortly before before travelling, as things can change at short notice - this applies at all times and not just for the weekend closures.

Other issues

We'll send out another email in a couple of weeks with updates on other matters.

In the meantime, if you have an issue where you think we can assist, please let us know.

Meet the Manager Sessions

The next sessions are:

Kings Cross Thursday 30 Jan: 07:30 - 09:30
Blackfriars Thursday 27 Feb: 07:30 - 09:30
St Pancras Thursday 26 Mar: 16:30 - 18:30

There are usually a good range of senior managers at these events and we would encourage you to go along and ask questions / raise issues.

We are hopeful that there will also be a session at Moorgate early in 2020.

Spread the Word

Please let other station users know of our existence and encourage them to join our mailing list and/or follow us on Twitter. We update the Twitter feed on our website with news items etc in between newsletters.

Do let us have details of any other issues and concerns and we will assist in raising them in an appropriate forum.

Help please! - in order to maximise our impact in matters effecting you, we need further volunteers - even a small amount of time would help e.g. info stands at the station, contributing to these newsletters, updating info on our website etc. You can contact us on committee@hatfieldrail.com.
