Exploring our Future Hope
The New Heaven and the New Earth
Sundays between services at A Time in the Word
Thursday Mornings at 9am at Christ Church
Men's Bible Study Mondays at 8am at the church
What is your response when you read this excerpt from John Eldridge's book All Things New: Heaven, Earth and the Restoration of Everything You Love?
"One day soon you will step into a renewed earth, a young earth, sparkling like an orchard of cherry trees after a rain shower. Joy will be yours. How do we open our hearts to this after so much pain and disappointment? We have lost many things as we've passed through the battlefields of this war-torn world; our humanity has been stripped of such essential goodness." (All Things New, Eldridge, p. 115)
Do you scoff with cynicism or cry out in wonder?
Read it again, stopping to consider your own thoughts of our future hope - The New Heaven and New Earth. We invited you to take advantage of one of the ways to further engage with this topic, to study, take in, and talk about something we don't often talk about... what does eternity look like?
Or, pick up a copy of the book and "grab hold with both hands!"

Sanctity of Life Sunday
January 26, 2020
|
|
|
As quoted from Anglicans for Life: "Upholding the sanctity of life implies respect for life, and intent to protect life, as well as a celebration of life as a gift from our Creator. In other words, from womb to tomb, every life should be seen as divine and holy, set apart of sacred use, to be honored."
While the tension between life and death has existed since the Garden of Eden, today’s culture increasingly celebrates and embraces death. We as the Church need to be prepared to respond! We celebrate life from the moment of conception to the moment of natural death, and every moment in between.

This year, Steve and Paula Coffin will join others on the National Mall and march on Capitol Hill. This annual event takes place on the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling which legalized abortion in all 50 states.
During our Sunday services, we will offer congregational prayers, and if you are looking for a prayer to include in your personal devotions, one is provided below.
Dear Heavenly Father, You are Creator of all and the Giver of life. You have created humankind in your image to reflect your glory to the world, and we praise you for the work your hands have done... (continue reading Prayer for Life)

Jesus' Early Life Timeline Project: On to Jerusalem!
|
|
This Sunday, the children will be meeting in their classrooms to craft their popsicle stick puppets before making their journey to Jerusalem (the MegaZone) to add their 5th event to the timeline. This event will mark the time Jesus spent in the temple as a young boy, Luke 2:41-52.
Curious what's on the timeline? Be on the lookout for an invitation to check it out first hand when the children are finished!
