We have a great opportunity today with a chance to reload on the wonderful Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage Rose 2008.
2008 is widely considered to be an outstanding vintage in Champagne, one of the finest of the decade.
Moet has produced something special. In this vintage, it is Vinous 94+ points, earning higher marks from Antonio Galloni than other, more illustrious and expensive Rose cuvees from some of the elite growers: Jacquesson, Jerome Prevost and Philipponnat to name just a few of our favorites.
"2008 is widely considered to be an outstanding vintage in Champagne, one of the finest of the decade along with 2002...Even during the harvest, most people were already highly enthusiastic about the vintage. Sugars were unexpectedly high, and unusually, malic acidity levels were also high as well, thanks to those cool nights. Acidity is certainly pronounced when tasting the 2008 vins clairs, although for me the vintage is also marked by an exceptional harmony, and in most cases the still wines are not nearly as severe Michel Loriot during the 2008 harvestas you might expect from simply looking at the numbers. There is plenty of structure to be sure, but that balance seems to bode well for future aging." - Peter Liem, Champagne Guide
Highly recommend for quality and value.
