Working Bee 15th & 16th February
The DSC 2020 summer working bee was a great success, with the hardworking 8 attendees achieving some great results. The weather was fine and warm, which made travel and jobs easier to complete.
At National Park the gardening team produced 2 truckloads of trimmings and we now have a front garden to be proud of. Wood was cut and stacked,
underfloor insulation has been installed, making us compliant, walls replaced, plastered, windows painted, electrics updated, redesigning of a couple of rooms. Room 7 is undergoing a makeover.
Don't expect those peas to still be in the freezer when you next go to the lodge - the freezers were emptied of left food - some looking rather dodgy.
Sheets and pillowcases were given their annual wash, extra deep clean of bathrooms, kitchen, floors and furniture.
At the mountain lodge, the water leak was fixed and all made ready for the next season.
The catering was superb, thanks to the Chaneys, and appreciation to all who donated supplies and materials. All those present agreed it is a worthwhile experience, getting to know fellow members in a summer setting.
There is more work to do, however, and if there are any members who weren't able to make the first working bee, there is another opportunity on the weekend of 15th & 16th February. Main skills required are: gib stopping, sanding, painting walls and windows, Bring your club member friends, and please phone Ross to talk about joining the group. Mob: 027 472 8332
Below are a few photos of last weekend's efforts.
