Berkey Announcements

Moving Help Request

moving truckWilma Shank will be moving this Sunday, February 9, and her family is requesting some help with moving a few large furniture items. They are asking for people to arrive at her current apartment at Greencroft (1553 Redbud Court) between 2:00-2:30 p.m. Lowell Nafziger will be bringing his trailer for loading. Please email Sarah Morrison or the church office so we have an idea about how many people are able to help.

Congregational Potluck Meal

saladOn Sunday, February 16, everyone is invited to gather for a congregational meal and meeting following the nurture hour, 12:00 p.m. Bring a main dish and a salad or dessert to share.

SUCCESSFUL POTLUCK TIPS:
  1. The ovens will only be used for warming! They are always full of dishes, therefore they will not cook your food. Please bring your dish already warm or in a crock-pot.
  2. Because of the new line configuration, we are asking that table service/baskets not be put on the wall opposite the bathrooms. Suggestions: coat closets, Jubilee Hall, under mailboxes.
  3. Please bring your own table service! This allows Fellowship members to clean up quickly and make it to the congregational meeting.
- Thank you on behalf of the Fellowship Commission

Congregational Meeting, February 16

plantFollowing the potluck at noon, our congregational meeting will have three agenda items.
  • Approve the minutes of November 10.
  • Hear a financial report.
  • Hear brief reports from several of our commissions.
We anticipate that this will be a somewhat shorter meeting.  --The SLT

Children are welcome at the meeting. Coloring sheets and crayons will be available for them. Childcare is not provided so if your children choose to play in the Jubillee Hall or on the playground, one of their parents should be with them.

Creation Care Survey

earthThe Creation Care Committee is creating a proposal to decrease Berkey's carbon footprint. We REALLY value your input regarding ways our congregation can demonstrate care for God’s creation. Please take time to complete the Creation Care Survey by clicking here

Credit Card Donations

Everence cardThank you to those of you who have designated Berkey as the recipient of your Everence "MyNeighbor" credit card donations. Berkey received approximately $900 in donations from Everence last year as a result of individuals who use Everence's MyNeighbor credit cards from Everence Federal Credit Union. A portion of each credit card transaction amount is designated as a donation from Everence to the organization of the cardholder's choice. Berkey does not receive details regarding who supports Berkey in this way.

Everence Matching Funds Report

EverenceThe Everence Sharing Funds provided $500.00 in matching funds to support special needs in our church last year. John Roth serves as the Everence advocate for Berkey. Please contact him for more information.

If you would like more information on receiving Stephen Ministry please call or email Laura Moshier or Peter Shetler.
