Happy February everyone!

The days are getting longer, and we’re getting excited for spring planting.  We are thrilled to let you know that we can now count on another garden season at the Ballard P-Patch!  On Sunday, January 26 both the Our Redeemer's Congregation, and the Ballard P-Patch gardeners voted to accept a Purchase and Sale Agreement for the Ballard P-Patch. This is a major milestone for us, and we are grateful for the commitment the community has shown us.
That means our work has just begun!  We’ve agreed to a purchase price of $1.95M, which will purchase a little over a half-acre of prime real-estate in much sought after Ballard.  This land has been an organic garden for 44 years, and we intend to keep it that way under permanent conservation easement.  We need to ‘close’ on the deal mid July.

Fortunately, we've identified a lot of potential grants and funding applications are underway. We believe we can do it!  But to succeed we need YOUR help.  Our plan counts on $500K of private philanthropy from individual donors, foundations, and corporations.

Fundraising Event

Populuxe Brewery is hosting a fund-raiser for the Save the Ballard P-Patch Campaign on Tuesday – March 17. That’s right, St. Patrick’s Day! Come show your Irish spirit and purchase a pint or two. $1/Pint goes to our Campaign. The garden gnomes will be there with our pint glasses, t-shirts and would love to meet our supporters.

Get Involved

Speaking of our supporters…you can help us out by reaching out to your government officials at the city, county, and state level. We hope to receive funding from all three entities.
