(TOPEKA) Bestselling and award-winning author Tosca Lee will present at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library on Sunday, Feb. 23. She will hold a suspense writing workshop from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. and will share stories behind her inspirational and suspense novels for adults and teens from 2 to 3 p.m. Lee's events are two of the featured events in the library's year-long 150th anniversary celebration.
"I have one aim when writing thrillers: keeping my readers up past bedtime," said Lee. "Every time a fan writes to me that they stayed up far too late to finish… I grin. Maniacally.”

Lee is the author of 11 novels including The Progeny, Firstborn, Iscariot, The Legend of Sheba, and The Books of Mortals series with New York Times bestselling author Ted Dekker. Her books have been translated into 17 languages and have been optioned for TV and film.
"I always say that we write and read for similar reasons: to know that we’re not alone," said Lee. "And we read fiction in particular for escape—to feel like we’ve stepped into someone else’s shoes so we can see the world through their eyes, or to feel like maybe we’re not so weird after all, that there are other people with similar struggles and hurdles to overcome.”
Lee's Suspense Writing Workshop will be held in the library's Learning Center, 12:30-1:30pm and her author talk will be in Marvin Auditorium BC, 2-3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23. Q&A and book signing will follow her presentation.
