Ambrosia Maple - Green/undried and Kiln Dried
Ambrosia maple contains streaks of color which are created when ambrosia beetles tunnel through living trees, where they leave behind traces of fungi which discolor the surrounding wood, producing a streaked effect. All available pieces are individually graded for sufficiently heavy ambrosia streaking. Kiln dried pieces available 2"-3" thick.

Rainbow Cottonwood - Green/undried

Select Maple - Green/undried and Kiln Dried
Select maple is a byproduct of our production of ambrosia maple, curly maple, and/or spalted maple. While none of these pieces have heavy color and/or figure, they all contain varying amounts of unique character. These pieces are an excellent value, and always remains one of our top-selling types of wood. We currently have 2" and 3" thick kiln dried pieces for sale.

Spalted Maple - Green/Undried
Spalted maple, in reality, is actually maple which has heavy mineral staining. These pieces are quite uncommon, as it takes a precise combination of environmental factors to cause maple trees to change color in this manner. The heartwood is a mixture of dark green colors, and the sapwood, when present, is a heavily contrasting off-white color.

Due to constant rain in our region, log supplies have been dwindling. As we get further into February, we expect to begin seeing more new material coming in...time will tell what new woods we will see in the mixture. Until then, we will be bringing in and processing more kiln dried material. We have been working hard over the last few months to line up new suppliers of difficult to find woods from around the country, and are very excited about some of the new possibilities that are on the horizon! We hope to begin expanding into more domestic AND exotic woods, and will be offering more 3" and 4" thick kiln dried material when it becomes available to us.
