Youth and Community Fishing

Hi everyone

A reminder that the annual Youth and Community Fishing day is happening on the 14th of March.  This year is our biggest yet with the well-known hosts of Fishing and Adventure Scott and Mig joining us for the day.  There will also be some other really exciting activities taking place for the participants.

Scott and Mig will be speaking on the night of the 14th and tickets will be $50.00 which includes dinner.  These tickets will be limited to 99 and will be on sale at the bar from the 6th February 2020/

This day is a highlight of the clubs’ calendar and certainly our favourite event of the year.  It is just wonderful to see the joy experienced by the people invited to participate as well as the skippers, crew and volunteers who help out.

What can you as club members do?

  • Buy the raffles we will be selling specifically to support this event (additional to club raffles)
  • Donate some money to help fund the day’s events.  (These events cost money to run)
  • Give of your time on the day to help with launching, marshalling, general logistics and event support
  • Buy tickets and support the event

If you want to be involved or donate money to help, please contact Steve on 027-676-8527 or Paul on 027-543-6666.

This is a fantastic community event and one that has brought happiness to many people over the last 7 years.   It is a privilege to belong to a club that organises this event.

Kind regards

Paul Templer and Steve Watson

Wooton Cup 2020

The Wooton cup which is contested annually between Waikanae and Kapiti Boating Clubs is currently held at the Kapiti Club.

This state of affairs needs to change and it needs to come north.

This year it is being held on the 7th March (Saturday) with prize giving that night if it goes ahead, and a reserve date Sunday the 8th with prize giving to follow.

Registration will be at Waikanae on Thursday the 5th and registration/briefing on Friday the 7th at Kapiti.

Our club will be arranging transport to the prize-giving so if you are interested in going can you please advise the bar staff who will keep a list of expressions of interest behind the bar.
Let’s get the Wooton cup back in its rightful home with a good turnout to give us the best chance.

Steve (RC)
