CHRISTMAS IN REAR VIEW

Dear <<First Name>>,

2020 is well on its way and for some the new year has brought many new and exciting adventures and for some it had a bit of a rocky start. What I realised is that either way, we can’t just throw in the towel when things gets off to a rocky start or become complacent when things are good. We should always be aiming our hearts at Jesus, to be ready and tenaciously pursuing the heart of Jesus.

In September 2019 we placed a young lady in a drug rehabilitation centre and things went fairly smooth until two weeks ago. Many things were happening in two weeks’ time and at the end of it, she ran away and is back living on the streets again. God keeps reminding me of the song, Reckless Love, from Cory Asbury, and I’ll admit that going after her like Jesus goes after us, is not in my human nature! But is that not how His love for us manifest? I would like to encourage you to please keep her and thousands of other addicts in your prayers. The grip that the devil has on their lives are very real and to see the number of lives that are being destroyed like this, is making my heart so much angrier at the devil. I’m becoming more and more motivated to find more people and introduce them to a snapshot of who He is, so that they can discover the rest for themselves.

We’ve had a very exciting December with loads of adventure on and off the mission field. God is amazing and I love to see how He is interested in meeting us not only in our needs, but also in our wants. I love to see how He blesses my team and are intricately involved in their lives as well as in their times of rest. I’m thankful for the team that God has sent me and continuously adding on, they are amazing!

So let’s re-cap on some amazing encounters we had:
CURRENT
Baptisms at the Worship Centre

We’ve been seeing a build up of people attending our services at the Worship Centre since we started it middle of last year. There is a rhythm and not one week passes by where we don’t see how God intervenes in somebody’s life in a miraculous way. As you know we did some street baptisms end of last year, but because the crowd attending the Worship Centre is different from those on the street, we needed to have another baptism service. We saw how people encountered Jesus and things just changed inside of them - their faces, body language and speaking. Hope was shining from them. Only Jesus can do something so special in people.
Christmas Lunch for the Homeless: 24 – 25 Dec 2019

We are ever grateful for each and every volunteer that came out to assist us on these two days. It made our hands so much lighter. We’re incredibly thankful to all who contributed and sponsored towards the supplies needed. To have seen how people got saved and delivered in the “catch net of food” that was provided, was just marvellous.  We prepared food for 200 people, but we lost count after 350 people that received food. Antoinette out outreach co-coordinator estimated close to 450 people got fed on Christmas day.

Thank you for loving our homeless friends well on Christmas day, so that for a moment they could see and experience the love of God for his sons and daughters

Prayer points:

  • Please pray for Karabo (street name), after running away from the rehabilitation centre, we believe it is essential for her to complete her programme.
  • I want to take more people through programs like these, thus I need more funds to be able to do this, as I believe it to be part of God’s plan to save more lives.
  • I’m praying for the salvation of the men that mugged us. I truly believe that they can be part of our evangelism teams.
  • Financial provision on a personal level and ministry level for everything that we are doing.
  • Worship Centre – Outpouring of the Holy Spirit – we’ve seen some, but I’m expectant and hungry for more.
  • Pray for me. I need wisdom to do everything that God is placing on my heart. Time management and financial management in particular. I want to be a good steward of what is given to me to be done.
  • We are trusting God to clean the city of all foreign gods and practices that does not honour Him.
  • Protection from witchcraft that is launched against myself and my teams & their loved ones.
  • Hands and feet to help connect the homeless to employment and skills development opportunities.
  • I’m trusting God to open doors so that we can acquire land for the ministry from where we can run a self-sustaining farm and help people re-cover/ re-integrate into normal society
  • That more people will start to pray & fast for revival in our nation.
From July 2019  we saw 260 people meet Jesus for the first time, in one-on-one encounters. Those are only the ones that I know of. We try to disciple and walk alongside them, giving them what we can give, and that is Jesus. Thank you for lifting our hands and believing in what God is doing in our city. I appreciate you!

Many blessings
