April is our Make a Will Month

We hold our annual Make a Will month in April where local solicitors kindly give up their time and waive their fee to draw up basic Wills in return for a donation to Wirral Hospice St John’s. It is an excellent opportunity for you to make or update your Will following any major changes in your life such as moving house, marriage, divorce and having children/grandchildren.

The solicitors are requesting that individuals make a fair donation to the Hospice in return for this service, which is a suggested minimum donation of £90 for a single basic Will and £150 for a double Will. It can usually cost in the region of £150 plus for a single Will and £250 plus for a double Will.

Legacies are a vital part of fundraising and help us to provide care and support for future patients and their loved ones at their time of most need. We simply couldn't continue to provide our services without the generosity of our supporters who leave us a gift in their Will.

Wirral Hospice St John’s provides free specialist care and support to patients, their families and carers across Wirral. The hospice costs more than £5 million a year to run.

No matter how big or small, leaving a donation in your Will can make a huge difference to the people and families from your community who are facing a life limiting illness.

It is important to note, however, that there is no obligation, at all, to leave a further gift to the hospice in addition to the suggested donation. Any legacy gift is personal, and the Make a Will Month partner solicitors are bound by law to keep all of the instructions in people’s Will’s completely confidential.
