News from WORK:
You may have noticed a new face at the front desk. I hope you get a chance to stop by and introduce yourself to Kendra. :) She'll be holding down the fort Monday mornings and all day Wednesdays. You may recognize Kendra as one of the Petaluma Radio Players, born here at WORK several years ago.

Feeling inspired to write this week, I took a morning to capture a moment in time when I was struck by the divine. The magic has passed, but the words remain to remind me of a truth I find when my mind is open and my senses aware. I hope you enjoy this latest blog entry: God in a Flock of Turkeys.

With gratitude,

Natasha

P.S. Please note that there are no events at WORK this Friday (today). But next week is full of great stuff. :) See below and mark your calendar!

Climate WORK:

Let’s change the transportation paradigm in Petaluma and Sonoma County!

Measure M is a ¼ cent sales tax that has funded transportation projects in Sonoma County since 2004. This year is our chance to modernize the transportation measure with a 60/40% split in favor of next-century travel that helps us create a more climate-healthy county for all.

A coalition of Sonoma County residents and organizers is advocating for:
  • 60% of Measure M funds dedicated to alternative transportation (transit, bike, pedestrians)
  • A free county-wide transit system
  • Transit frequency that makes public transit feasible for workers, students, seniors, disabled, and other vulnerable users
  • Funds for "quick-build" projects that support safe and efficient bicycle and pedestrian routes.
Here are 4 actions you can take:

1. Sign and share this petition before Monday, February 10.

2. Respond to this survey about our transportation future from the Sonoma County Transportation Authority (SCTA).

3. Write a letter to the SCTA board: Susan.Gorin@sonoma-county.orgmbagby@ci.cloverdale.ca.usDavid.Rabbitt@sonoma-county.orgmlandman@sonic.netssalmon@townofwindsor.comLogan.Harvey@sonomacity.orgsarahgurney.seb@gmail.comjnaujokas@ci.healdsburg.ca.usjcallinan@rpcity.orgkmiller@cityofpetaluma.orgcrogers@srcity.orgshirlee.zane@sonoma-county.org

4. Speak at the SCTA meeting on February 10th at 2:30-5 pm. SCTA-RCPA Board Room, 411 King Street, Santa Rosa.
