With words and deeds, we declare that Black Lives Matter. On this Sunday we commit again to break down systems of oppression so that we all: black, brown, and white alike; might be truly liberated into wholeness, worth, and dignity.

Dear Starr King UU Fellowship Members and Friends,
 
The Mission/Vision Team is pleased to offer to you our Mission and Vision statements. With these statements, we seek to convey the common spirit and longings of our Fellowship. These were created after we explored what Starr King UU Fellowship is, and might be, in our missioning and visioning sessions with you.
 
Please take some time to read and sit with them. We will vote on adopting these at our Annual Meeting on May 17. If you have questions or comments, please feel free to reach out to anyone on our Mission/Vision Team.

Mission: 
At Starr King Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, we cultivate more love in the world and nurture more love for the world.

Vision:
  • Our Fellowship welcomes and cares for people of all ages and varied identities. We experience joy as we build community and use our relationships with each other to create a more loving world. 
  • Our Fellowship embraces what is meaningful and beautiful. We offer diverse experiences in worship, music, and the arts through our services, events, and the use of our building.  
  • We live and model our values, collectively creating social and environmental justice with direct action and financial support. 
 

From Stewardship:  Are you looking for an event that will combine companionship, good discussions, and delicious food all in a warm and friendly environment?  Sign up to attend one of our Stewardship cottage meetings held in members’ homes during the month of February.  For parents who want to bring their children, we offer dinner at the meetinghouse with childcare provided.  Children are also welcome at the brunch offered by Jess and Dan Boynton.  Click here to sign up.

Flume Sunday:  The weather looks good for a walk through the Flume this Sunday, February 9. We will meet at the lower parking lot to carpool and leave at 12 noon. Afterwards we can go out to dinner at “La Grotte” in Plymouth, if there is any interest in doing so. Please email Gigi at (bestes@plymouth.edu) if you are interested in the hike and/or dinner afterwards. Please bring microspikes. If you have snowshoes, please bring them along, too.

Our Stewardship campaign is the financial expression of our mission to cultivate more love in the world and nurture more love for the world.  We pledge our support with gratitude for the joy, purpose and meaning this Fellowship brings to our lives.

“I am most proud of volunteering at Starr King events and being involved.”

“I would miss the atmosphere here.  It is so welcoming and accepting.  When you walk in it feels like getting a hug. “
