February No-Fuss Fundraiser
The PTA’s biggest fundraiser of the year keeps things simple: no magazine or door-to-door sales. Just 29 days of giving in February and 100% of all donations will be spent on student support programs and enrichment. (Donations are also tax-deductible!)
All donations made by February 29th will be entered into a drawing for four tickets to a 2020 Washington Redskins home football game of your choice plus a parking pass. Already donated earlier this year? You’ll automatically be entered in the drawing for Redskins tickets. Donate $50 or more and receive a VES magnet.
You can donate online or with cash or check payable to VES PTA and sent to the VES office in a sealed envelope labeled PTA February Fundraiser. Please include your contact information so we can send you a receipt. Thank you for your support!
VES PTA After-School Clubs are Back!
The VES PTA is offering six weeks of one-hour after-school classes beginning February 24th. All classes will be held at VES from 3:35-4:35 p.m. Cost is $90 per student per class for the six-week session. For the schedule and class descriptions click here. Winter Bingo
A family favorite returns! VES Winter bingo and the 50/50 Raffle will be held on February 21th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Bingo is $6 per player or $22 for a family pack (up to 6 players). The 50/50 Raffle is $6 per ticket or $20 for a pack of 5 tickets. Registration is

PTA Meeting February 25th
We’re taking the February PTA meeting offsite! Time: 7:00 p.m. Location: If the new Bear Branch Tavern (133 Maple Ave East) opens by February 25th, we will meet there. If not, our backup location is Caboose Tavern, 520 Mill St NE. We’ll announce the location ASAP on social media and the

VES Read-A-Thon
The annual VES Read-A-Thon is in full swing! Thanks to all who have volunteered for morning reading time in the library. The Read-A-Thon runs until March 8th so there's still time to
volunteer. If there is a 2-hour delay, volunteers should still show up from 10:00-10:35 a.m. to monitor the library. Keep sending those bookmarks in every Monday morning and may the reading-est class win!
Curriculum Night and Science Extravaganza
Curriculum Night will be held Thursday, March 5 from 6:00-6:45 p.m. Parents, students and siblings are welcome to visit their child’s classroom, meet teachers, mingle, and see students showcase their special projects. The Science Extravaganza will follow from 6:45-7:30 p.m. in the VES Gym. All students are welcome to participate! Read the

Dining for Dollars at Noodles & Company
With crowd-pleasers such as Wisconsin Mac & Cheese and Spaghetti & Meatballs, this event should be a no-brainer! When you dine at Noodles & Co. between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. on March 11th, the VES PTA will receive 25% of all food and beverage sales, excluding online orders. Please

Donuts with Dad
Donuts With Dad will be held on Thursday, March 12th from 7:30 — 8:20 a.m. in the VES Cafeteria. Students are welcome to bring any special adult in their life — parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, babysitter, etc. Please park in the Patrick Henry Library parking lot behind VES and enter the VES Cafeteria using the back entrance at Door #5. Staffers will not be in the VES front office to buzz you in, so please use Door #5. Please consider
volunteering to staff this event. We look forward to seeing you there!
Faculty Basketball Game
We'll see you on Tuesday, March 31st at 7:00 p.m. (doors open at 6:00 p.m.) at Madison High for one of the most anticipated events of the year. The Vienna Viking faculty will be taking on the faculty of Cunningham Park Elementary in a fast-paced, fun-filled game with the best cheerleaders in town…..including you!! Show your spirit by wearing PINK! New this year: T-shirts will only be sold at Curriculum Night, Thursday, March 5th at 6:00 p.m. $10 per shirt, cash or check only.

Volunteer Opportunities

info or to volunteer for any of the positions below.
- 5K/Fun Run Sponsorship Chair: Recruit (the PTA will help!) and organize the sponsorship team in order to contact previous and new potential sponsors to enlist support for the springtime 5K, as well as obtain sponsor logos.
- Science Extravaganza Volunteers: Assist the current chair and promote the extravaganza with flyers; set up registration (SignUpGenius or other); coordinate time/space with school; and establish guidelines for students. The Science Extravaganza will take place the same evening as VES Curriculum Night on Thursday, March 5, 2020.
