The first ice fishing tournament was canceled because of no safe ice. The scheduled February 15 ice fishing tournament is at Portage Lake by a vote at the membership meeting. The contact person for this one is Justin Kling (269) 491-2980.
We have 2 River Tournaments coming up. The first one is the February 22 St. Joe River Trout Quest followed by the St. Joe River Chapter Challenge March 7th. Mr. Joe Foy is the Contact person for the River Tournaments, thank you Joe.
I want to thank all the Board Members, Officers, and Chairs for giving up their time to make this Club Possible. Also our very capable WebMaster.
This Month at our Membership Meeting will be the Big Fish Awards. Please come and bring a guest. Remember each guest you bring you'll get an extra participation raffle ticket.

Happy New fishing Season everyone.
Some good news to help eliminate some confusion Starting April 1, 2020, The waters of the Detroit River to Lake Erie Michigan waters, will have the walleye catch limit increased to (6),
Currently, the size limit has not changed, The Detroit River and Lake Erie is 15", and Lake St. Clair and St. Clair River will remain at 13" so far for 2020. DNR is contemplating choosing a single size for all waters, more to come in 2020.
If the sizes of Walleye taken late last season is any indication of 2020 it should be a great year, all of those 13's will be 15's by Ice off.
Finally, there's some ice, Nottawa, Lake-of-the woods, Bristol, North bay at Gull Lake, and I'm sure many others. Just a few reminders for first ice fishing. ALWAYS..Let someone know that is not fishing with you that you are going on the ice, which lake and an approximate time of return, keep ice spikes easily accessible when walking on, walk with a spud, sled, or just a walking staff giving you something to grab and hang onto in case you go thru, Wear ice cleats to prevent falls, because of the temperature swings, Ice domes may have formed over springs within the lake water columns, keep your eyes open for color/density changes in the ice.
Final note DandR sports is having a walleye seminar soon, should be good information, check their site for day and time.
