Long Term Volunteers' Spotlight

Cassie Smith
Social Media & Communications
Pronouns: Her/Hers/She
Cassie L. Smith handles the social media for the Waco Pride Network and serves on the OUT on the Brazos pride planning committee. She’s engaged to her partner, Misty Shugart, and they have two fur babies, Blitz and Bentley. Though she’s only been in Waco six years, she considers this community home. She also serves on committees for Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas and Lake Shore Baptist Church and is writing her first book.
Cassie says she contributes to the WPN because she hopes to be the person she so desperately needed as a youth.
The WPN is an all-volunteer nonprofit and its efforts are made possible by those willing to donate one's time, talents, or finances to help make our dreams possible.
Sign up to volunteer for the Waco Pride Network today. Together, and only together, can we make a difference.
Your donation will not only support the financial aspects of our mission, it will serve as a statement.
Your donation says that you stand against those that wish us to simply go away, to remain silent about who we are.
Your donation says that you stand with this community in its struggle for affirmative acceptance and recognition.
