Ghost and John has completed their performance at Resolution Festival 2020 and are looking forward to their exploration around the UK in February!

Premiering Skirmishes

We have premiered our new work, Skirmishes, with percussionist, Angela Hui, on 10 Jan 2020 during Resolution 2020 at The Place, London. With costume designer, Anders Duckworth and light designer, Charles Webber, we are thankful for the responsive audience members who gave us a night of full house. We are also grateful to The Place for hosting us.

"A series of small revelations... heartfelt and stirring."
- Jenny Gilbert, Chief Dance Critic, The Arts Desk

Exploration around the UK

With support from Surf The Wave at Pavilion Dance South West, we are visiting five cities to meet venues, programmer, artists and producers:⁣

2-5 Feb: Cardiff⁣
8-13 Feb: Glasgow⁣
13-16 Feb: Dundee⁣
16-17 Feb: Edinburgh⁣
17-19 Feb: Nottingham⁣

We have arranged meet up with Nottingham Contemporary, Dance4, Chapter Arts Center, Rubicon Dance, CCA Glasgow, Cardiff Dance Festival, Surf The Wave and Tron Theatre.

We are interested in learning more about the industry ecology in different regions of the UK, finding common ground and passion with art venues and people. Observed that artists are using at the more passive in the current framework of art funding and presenting, we are imagining a new framework where artists take a more active role in building relationships where we understand each other and find ways to collaborate and innovate.

Are you a programmer/artist/producer who will be there and are interested in a chat over tea with us? Contact us now so we can make new friends. ⁣

Things that are on our minds recently:

- Brexit on 31 Jan.
- Building real connections with people one by one. Taking time to learn from others.
- Hot pot parties that people gather and generously share ideas and thoughts.
- Coronavirus outbreak and the global health emergency.
- How difficult is it to get a mask anywhere.
- Having to cancel our trip back home (Hong Kong) worrying that we cannot come back to London for our performance at Vault Festival.
- What does home mean? How does being away from home affects our creativity?
- As we see a crisis unfold at home so far away, what we can do and what are our responsibilities?
- Why is it always the wrong people getting the power?

Article published at Dance Journal/hk

John's article about them presenting their work "I'M NOT SURE ABOUT YOU, BUT I NEED..." at Kasino am Schwerzenbergplatz during ImPulsTanz Vienna 2019 was released!

"One early September evening, a Vietnamese restaurant in Dalston, London. A dinner gathering with six other Hong Kong artists in London. Victor Fung turned to me and said. “I watched the live broadcast of your performance in Vienna. Less than 10 seconds after I started watching, you sneezed.” And that was the first time I’ve ever sneezed at a live performance......"
