Last Meeting - 24th January

An Exchange Of  Sequences

With the Cleethorpes AV Group & Northern Ireland AV Group

This was the 2nd part of our Exchange.  We viewed the remaining sequences from the two Groups.
The first set was viewed last November.

There was plenty of time for discussion and to give our thoughts on what we saw.
We were armchair travellers for the evening, as we were treated to a complete range of topics and locations. Firstly we travelled back in Time to the 1940's at 'North Thoresby'. Then it was on to Iceland with it's dramatic Scenery and waterfalls - 'A Photographers Paradise'.  A gentler pace took us to a misty woodland and gently flowing stream at 'Crawford's Barn' before we were wisked away to Birmingham and the Back to Back houses in 'Time Gone By'.

Next stop was 'Marseille' then an old derelict cottage in Ireland reminiscing about it's past life in 'Cottage Dream'. An author's favourite walk through a Nature Reserve in Lincolnshire, with a poignant ending in 'Final Resting Place'. But this wasn't the end as we quickly travelled across the country to North Wales with all it scenery, changing weather & history in 'Cymru'. Cornwall was our final destination with a look at the life and sculpture of Barbara Hepworth in 'An Artist in St. Ives'.

A very enjoyable evening thanks to our friends in Cleethorpes and Northern Ireland.

Later in the year - 27th March - we will view the sequences that we sent to the other 2 groups & hear their comments on our work.

Many Thanks to Jeff Mansell for co-ordinating the Exchange & to Pat for taking notes of our comments to send to the other Groups.

1st November - An Exchange of Sequences
With the Cleethorpes AV Group & Northern Ireland AV Group

Some club members do not travel to other events & competitions, so rarely see work outside of their own club. The idea of the exchange is to see work produced by different regions and to receive feedback. This is not a competition or to show new or the 'best' work from the club, but that from a range of members at all levels. It is more like a 'Members Sequence Evening' where the work is discussed & constructive comments made.
This way each Group will benefit from the comments & see a range of work at all levels from different areas.

This is the first of the Exchange evenings where we will look at some of the work from both Groups with plenty of time for discussion. The remaining sequences will be viewed in January.
