Ministry Report Winter 2020

Missions Trip San Jose del Cabo
In December Rob & Jonita traveled back to San Jose del Cabo, Mexico taking their family and some friends along for a time of relaxation and ministry. They had the privilege of seeing first hand the construction work for the new church facility that is happening to expand the ministry of Iglesia Libertad en Cristo. They attended the "mexican"wedding celebration of Pastor Luis Jr. and his new wife Melany. They also had the opportunity to minister at the men's home, "Freedom House" and at the church's mid week service. Special thanks to Martin Vazquez, the Director of Freedom House who provided transportation during their stay. The team was greatly impacted by Martin's love for the Lord and the amazing work he is doing with men of all ages who need a place to heal and find freedom in Christ.

On December 31st 2019 GME hosted the first ever New Years eve celebration. Lots of fun was had with friends bringing in the New Year with food, fellowship & games. Rob & Jonita had an opportunity to share about the work of GME along with the vision for 2020 and beyond.

Trip to Western Norway
At the beginning of January Rob & Jonita traveled to Western Norway to visit family and share about the work of GME. They began their stay by attending a prayer conference in Haugesund. This powerful conference was attended by prayer warriors from all over Norway, from the far north to the southern regions of the country. Rob & Jonita were able to connect and network with many leaders and missionaries from all over the world and the event was a powerful way to start of the new year.

Following the conference they took time visit with family in Skånevik and Stavanger. The final week they were busy holding house meetings in Skanevik and then ministering at the International church (aka the Filipino-Norwegian community) at Credo Church in Bergen before heading back to Canada.

Ministry Partner Report: Jonita Johnston

I want to take this opportunity to thank every one of you for your continued support through prayers and through your friendships, you all mean so very much to us. Looking back at the past few years as we ventured out in taking on this Ministry and walking in obedience to the Lord, I am very grateful for those who have started the journey with us in whatever capacity that may be. As you have seen through the many reports that we have provided in our mail-outs, we are slowly moving forward, and it is exiting to see how God is working through this ministry.

President's Report: Robert Johnston

2020 is proving to be a definitive year for GME as we prepare for what we believe that God is calling us to accomplish in His kingdom work around the world.

In 2019 we raised $800 for the church renovation work in Coolshade Jamaica. The church is currently undergoing renovations to replace the wooden rafters and metal sheet roof with a concrete slab roof which is more durable during the hurricane season each year. The current rafters in the roof are over 40 years old and have rotted and been eaten by termites. The need has become critical, as the church is considered a shelter and refuge for those lacking adequate protection during hurricane season. This special project will remain front and center for GME in 2020 as the estimated cost of the remaining work is in access of $20,000 (CAD).

Over the past two years God has been bringing Indigenous leaders in our path that are labouring in developing countries. They have sacrificed all to serve the Lord with little means of financial support. We are in the process of setting up a sponsorship program so that we will be able to help support their personal and family needs. More about this program will be announced in the near future.
