Response to the Peace to Prosperity Proposal
Brought to you by: Global Ministries
On January 31, 2020 The UCC and the Disciples Leaders issue a joint statement in response to the "Peace to Prosperity" proposal.
How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I bear pain in my soul,
and have sorrow in my heart all day long?
I trusted in your steadfast love;
my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord,
because he has dealt bountifully with me.
--Psalm 13: 1-2, 5-6

Voice Advocacy Toolkit
One of the core parts of CHHSM’s strategic plan is to increase our advocacy program. In preparation for the November 2020 election, CHHSM has partnered with the United Church of Christ’s Justice and Witness Ministries to create a faith-based advocacy toolkit on health and human services called be a voice. The advocacy issues raised in the toolkit stem from the variety of services CHHSM member agencies provide. They are also the topics CHHSM’s Board selected to guide the organization in how to 'be a voice' for social justice. The toolkit is designed to raise these critical issues and keep them in people’s minds as they make decisions about the election. For more information click here.

Cathedral on Fire
Brought to you by: UCC Resources
The urgency of the climate crisis requires that we act as if our cathedrals and churches are on fire. Indeed, God’s creation can be seen as one grand cathedral on fire with burning forests and rising temperatures. Amid this dire situation, Brooks Berndt focuses our attention on the unique and vitally needed gifts that churches can offer. He writes with poetic passion but also with an eye toward the practical as every chapter ends with suggested, field-tested actions. The book is designed so that church book groups can discuss one chapter a week from Earth Sunday (April 19th) to Pentecost (May 31st). With the 50th anniversary of Earth Day in 2020, the book provides the perfect opportunity to inform and inspire church members to act. For more information click here.
