Seeking reliable hardworking Cat Carers - cleaners, drivers, reception/admin, managers for cafe/stores, kitten care helpers and a Cat Care Coordinator / Cat Nurse. Training provided. With many shops closed and transport difficult during the MCO lockdown, Cat Beach faces challenges to get supplies. Most needed are:

(recycling centers currently closed)

OPERATION SNIPSNIP IS BACK!
Open for all registered cats!
Now for under RM100, all Penang cats can have spay/neuter surgeries at our official veterinary partners, Windsor Animal Hospital, as long as they are registered with Cat Beach. Every week since September 2019, twice a week cats have had professional surgeries under OP SNIPSNIP. On hold during the early MCOs, now it's back - more days than ever! ALL CATS - - pet, stray, feral or otherwise - can and should be vaccinated and sterilized for their health and to prevent unwanted pregnancies -- with eartips marking that they have be 'done.' Only eligible if registered with Cat Beach --Males just RM50 (usually RM120 & up), Females just RM80 (usually RM200 & up). Vaccinations just RM30. Costs may be subject to changes and there may be additional charges if complications.

"Well Wishes" from Cat Beach Cats,
Cat Beach Cats say, "Things are looking up!" Thankfully, Penangites have been good about observing the Movement Control Order and it is now a designated virus-free GREEN ZONE. It has been very peaceful here at Cat Beach - except of course, during the heavy monsoon rains!
We want to reassure you that the 300+/- cats and many kittens at Cat Beach are receiving regular food, careful cleaning and lots of "Loving Care."
In this challenging time, all at Cat Beach Penang send our best 'well wishes" to you and your family.

"Loving Care" is the guiding concept for Cat Beach - to give the cats rescued from desperate life-or-death situations the best care possible and "a whole lotta love." Our mission is 3-fold:
- to become the best possible cat sanctuary, always striving to reach international standards for feline care,
- to serve as an educational centre offering programs for cats' welfare and related issues,
- to be a tourist attraction where visitors can have a special experience of the joys of cats.
In the most difficult times, we become more determined than ever that we will never let the cats down.
VOLUNTEERS MAKE THE DIFFERENCE
Luckily, we have been locked down with some wonderful volunteers staying with us - from France, Poland, Bangladesh, the USA and Malaysia. Cat lover volunteers who give the cats the daily cleaning and care they must have. Some will be traveling on when the Movement Control Order ends. We hope that soon new volunteers will be able to come and that visitors can return to Cat Beach.
The cats miss people! Please visit when you can!
KITTEN SEASON GOES ON, NO MATTER WHAT
What comes next? No matter what else is going on in the world - it's Kitten Season once again! More than 20 kittens have been dumped at Cat Beach in the past few weeks! Several pregnant momcats were rescued and gave birth at CB. Some moms and babes have come in very sick and needed extended stays at our official partner veterinarians, the Windsor Animal Hospital. So grateful to the staff and vets at Windsor who do their best for the sick and injured.
Happy to report that with the loosening of the MCO restrictions, OPERATION SNIPSNIP is back! Just register with Cat Beach to get cats sterilized at an amazing discount. Pet cats, cats you find in your neighborhood - all cats can be sterilized to reduce the numbers of unwanted kittens and improve the health of adult cats. We've got to address the source to reduce the number of kittens and cats 'dumped' on Cat Beach.
Warm gratitude to the Teluk Bahang Police who kindly allowed Cat Beach volunteers through to bring cats back & forth to the vets, commute daily to care for the cats and even rescued a litter of kittens and a sick cat!

In which case, we may update with a photo of another similar cat in need of vaccination, sterilization, or other veterinary care.
