Upcoming Events:

Wikipedia Training and Edit-A-Thon
Weds, Feb 5th, 2020 @ 630pm

The New York chapter of the Tech Worker's Coalition is hosting a Wikipedia edit-a-thon! Come learn how to edit Wikipedia pages with volunteers from the Wikimedia foundation and members of the TWC. The focus will be on documenting the NYPD’s uses and abuses of surveillance technology, the history of tech worker activism, and tech industry ties to ICE, but we encourage all types of contributions. Come join us at Prime Produce on Wed. February 5th to learn how to edit Wikipedia and provide more comprehensive and just information to all those who rely on this resource.

Can't make it by 630? No worries, this is an unstructured, pop-in / pop-out style event. Even if you can only attend for 30 minutes, that's still greatly appreciated.

This event takes place in the 2nd floor conference rooms, so unfortunately it will not be accessible.

No Shortcuts Reading Group
Thurs, Feb 13th, 2020 @ 630pm

We're going to be discussing Jane McAlevey's book "No Shortcuts: Organizing for Power in the New Gilded Age". Jane is a rank-and-file organizer, and has a lot to teach tech workers from her intelligent union work.

In this second session, we'll be reading the second half of the book (Chapters 4 - 7).

We've reserved room #7 at the Brooklyn Public Library, Grand Army infocommons.

You can get a copy of No Shortcuts from the publisher here.
