Dear <<First Name>>,

February may be the shortest month, but it's packed full of great events at your community library.

This month, we're really showing our love for our great state -- from our local author who writes about California history, to Senior Book Break, which has selected California as its topic for the month. Come join the fun!

Meet the Author: Wanda Snow Porter

Join us as local author Wanda Snow Porter comes to the library for an evening of...

  • Conversation about books and writing

  • A reading

  • A book signing

  • Q & A

  • Wine and refreshments

Hope to see you there!

Wanda Snow Porter's writing career began when she wrote and illustrated the Adobe Burros Picture Book Series for DANA. After the publication of four novels, a non-fiction book about her late husband's California pioneer family, and six picture books, she is now illustrating another picture book that will be published later in 2020.

Learn more about Wanda on her website.

New Blog Post: The impact of the book When I Was the Greatest by Jason Reynolds
This month, our resident blogger reports on When I Was the Greatest by Jason Reynolds (2015).

Here's a sneak peek:

It’s no secret that teens and young adults today struggle with many intense issues that take a terrible toll.  Drugs, broken homes, bullying in person and online, abuse of various sorts, and school shootings are just some of the issues they face daily that create a sense there’s no trust and safety anywhere.

Adults need to step up to help in any way they can with what they have, whether it’s money, time, sharing a hobby, talent, or skill, or just caring.

Jason Reynolds has seen the need and shares his special writing talent to help many young people.
