Hey,

I'm thrilled to say I finally finished editing The Anatomy of Prose. I'll fill you in on all the details, but first, I have something interesting to share with you...

Crack the code to your writing productivity with THIS

The world is full of bad advice. Instead of trying to copy-paste someone else’s “best practice” onto your creative process, wouldn’t it be better if you could create your own best writing advice?

We're all rebels here... which is why I think you'll be interested in my friend Gabriela Pereira’s new Stop Dreaming, Start Doing video series. It's a FREE workshop designed to help you write more, write better, and write smarter.

Do you think that writing and productivity are some sort of secret code, one that you don’t know how to crack? Maybe you have massive “shiny object syndrome” where you chase every best practice or piece of writing advice you can find.

What if, instead of trying to find that one magic bullet solution, you learned a systematic approach to help you determine which writing advice would work for you?

Writing advice by you, for you. How rebellious is that?

These videos will only be available for a limited time so check them out now

P.S. I only promote people who I can stand behind 100%. I know that you’re in good hands with Gabriela because I'm personally taking her course right now. That's why I’m also a proud affiliate for her program.

The Anatomy of Prose Updates

The Anatomy of Prose is with my critique partner. I'm expecting to hand it to my editor at the end of this month which means I can confidently say that it will be published sometime between the end of March and the end of April.

If you think you'd like to be on my street team, then keep an eye out on your inbox over the next month as I'll be sending a note looking for street team volunteers once the book goes to the editor.

The Rebel Author Podcast

I can't believe we're up to episode 14 on The Rebel Author Podcast already. And episode 15 is coming this Wednesday. If you've not been listening, then grab a seat and buckle in, I've got some amazing guests to share with you.

If you are a regular listener, I would LOVE to hear who you'd like to see on the show or what topics you'd like me to cover. Hit reply and let me know.

Here are some of the latest shows to sink your teeth into.

Episode 14 - How to Write Romance with USA Today best selling romance author Kris Kennedy has received a staggering amount of praise. Whether you have a small romance subplot, you write full-blown romance novels or you just friendship love in your books, you need to listen. Make sure you have a pen and notebook to hand too!

Episode 13 - How to Write Diverse Characters with award-winning author Joan Dempsey is a fascinating look at diversity and how to authentically create diverse characters.

Episode 12 - Is all about Pay it Forward Marketing, Business Planning and Crafting Emotions with Angela Ackerman. Angela is one of my personal literary heroes, a long distance mentor and genuinely one of the nicest authors in the community. She has stacks of advice to help you both write better emotion and build your writing business strategically.

Useful Articles, Links and Book Recommendations

I wanted to share a couple of helpful things I've found recently.

Got a Mailing List Headache?

Having a mailing list is a necessity as an author these days. But there are so many providers. Should you go with MailChimp? Mailerlite? Convertkit? Someone else? I don't have the answer, but I have been considering a move to a provider with more segmenting capabilities. David Gaughran has a wonderful post detailing the move from MailChimp to Mailerlite which you can read here.

No Idea About ISBNs?

If you've ever had any questions about using ISBNs, the Alliance of Independent Authors have created a whopper of a guide for Authors which you can find here.

Looking for Writing Tools?

Angela Ackerman has pulled together a bumper list of resources for writers. The post is packed full of tools for everything from focusing your mind to picking up poor grammar. Check it out here.

10x Your Content

I heard this book recommended on a podcast this week. I haven't read it yet—it's arriving today. But, the podcast was fantastic so I'm hopeful this book will be fab. If you're looking to repurpose your content and do more with the stories and blogs you've already created, then check out Content 10x by Amy Woods.
