Where are your adventures taking you in 2020?

Hi friends,

The beginning of February in the Northern Hemisphere might be the least exciting time of the year, but here in Ecuador, we’re kicking off the riding season with some amazing new projects – and we want you to come join us!

Motorcycle tours are all about the adventure, and over the years, we’ve come to realize that we all need adventure like we need air. Going into the unknown, exploring the world off the beaten path, and connecting with like-minded people while riding motorcycles keeps our minds sharp and our souls alive.  Countless riders have told us that our adventure tours were life-changing experiences for them, and we know exactly why: it’s because adventure inspires, rekindles curiosity and awe of the world, and spurs us on to experience and achieve more than we ever thought possible.

July 2-8, 2020: Motorcycle Relief Project Benefit Ride

Ecuador Freedom was created a decade ago when we completed our New York to Buenos Aires ride and realized that sharing the joy and thrill of motorcycle adventures was what we wanted to do. Ever since we’ve been taking riders on unique motorcycle tours all over Ecuador, but we never forgot just how lucky we are and how important it is to give back.

That’s why this year, we are inviting five US ex-military and first responders suffering from PTSD to come join one of our tours in July. Partnering up with the Motorcycle Relief Project, a US charity that helps vets to reconnect and share their experiences while riding motorcycles, we’re excited to have their participants ride with us and discover Ecuador on two wheels. We think it’s important to appreciate all that the military and first responder staff do, and we can’t wait to ride with these incredible people.

If you’d like to support the Motorcycle Relief Project and join the ride, we still have five open spots on the tour. We will be riding our 7-day dual sport "Cloudforest, Coast & Craters" tour.  Contact us to book and join an epic ride in Ecuador with the vets!

Experience Ecuador's Diverse Terrains

Ecuador is a stunningly diverse country, which is why in 2020, we are focusing on adventure motorcycle tours that offer the most varied experiences. Our Avenue of Volcanoes, Quilotoa Loop & Amazon Basin self-guided tour is all about giving you a taste of the incredible variety of cuisines, climates, geologies, and wildlife available here in Ecuador in just four days. Riding the Andes, the Amazon basin and the Avenue of the Volcanoes. This tour takes you across some of the most breath-taking scenery in South America while also providing unique cultural experiences rarely available to mainstream tourist crowds.
Another of our favourite tours this year is the Andes, Amazon, and Pacific guided tour. This nine-day motorcycle expedition is designed to reveal Ecuador’s hidden gems and packed chock-full of adventures from riding around active volcanos to ziplining over canyons and waterfalls.  Awe-inspiring Andean vistas, the lush green rainforests of the Amazon, and the little fishing villages of the Pacific Coast are all part of the itinerary, and we especially love the jungle lodges and mountain inns on this tour, offering the best of the Ecuadorian hospitality.

Packing Purposefully

As much as we love adventures and giving back through motorcycling, we know that most of you, our tour participants, appreciate supporting local communities on your travels, too. This is why we are so happy to continue with our Pack for a Purpose program where we ask our riders to bring school supplies with them and share them with kids in the more remote, poorer regions of Ecuador. All you need to do is get some school supplies and toys in your home country, bring them down to Ecuador, and pack them in your panniers or support truck, then share with local communities. It’s simple and easy, but it can make a huge impact!

Ecuador Freedom in the Press: Motorcyclist Online

Janelle Kaz from Motorcyclist  Magazine has been roaming around on her Indian Scout for the past few months here in Ecuador, making reports on her finds and doing work in conservation and wilderness protection.

Her latest report appears in Motorcyclist Online:

Get A Bike

Maybe you’re overlanding and have made your way to Ecuador on your own steed, but if not, you’re going to need a motorcycle. With a fleet of 53 bikes and more than a decade of service, Ecuador Freedom Bike Rental is the best option in the country. It has around-the-clock support whether you’re just renting and heading out on your own or taking one of the guided tours. Each bike is equipped with a GPS tracker so the company always knows where you (and your bike) are. It also sends you out with a working cellphone in case you need to call headquarters.
