February 2020

I'm back! Did you miss me?

I've lapsed on my monthly email routine at the end of last year, but with good reason! I've been absolutely inundated with parents wanting to support their child with their 2020 exams, and so I've been working my mince pie padded butt off to deliver great tuition and find ways to support more students.I'm excited to share what we've got ready for you in this newsletter. Its a bumper edition, so stick the kettle on!

First up - GCSE Success Group Classes Online!!!

A fantastic opportunity for you to get more for less!

Are you worried that your child won't get the grade they need in their exam? Maybe you want to be able to do something to relieve their stress and build their confidence? Do you worry that they aren't engaged enough in their lessons, or they have no interest in maths and science?

My team of tutors are fully booked for 1:1 right up until the summer, but we have opened up an exciting new opportunity...

Group online tutoring

Students will receive exam tuition and support in small groups, from the comfort of your own home.

This is delivered by my supportive team of STEM qualified tutors with years of experience.

How about...

- Engaging classes delivered by my experienced team of DBS checked personal tutors, who are also scientists and engineers

- Attend by web link with the option to turn off the camera and microphone, so your teen can attend in their pyjamas if they like! (We know comfort is a priority!)

- You can watch the class too, so you have confidence in the service quality

- Each class will be recorded to allow students to watch them back and update their notes, or to catch up on classes they've missed

- A dedicated Whatsapp group to ask questions between sessions

- A supportive team of tutors who know exactly what it feels like to face a major exam series, and can help your child learn how to reduce their stress

- Learn how to craft answers to exam questions that the examiners are looking for (some of our tutors are exam board markers too)

- Separate classes to cover higher tier maths / triple science topics so no one is left behind, and nothing is missed

PLUS when you sign up you'll be sent a copy of my revision and exam planning guide, which contains everything your child needs to plan their way to success and manage their stress as the exams get closer.

Would you want in?

I'm launching it at £50 per month for the first ten sign ups. The cost will go up as this new group format is tried and tested. The same amount of tuition one to one would ordinarily cost £700 per month!

Just say yes below and I'll email all the details.

Yes please!

Our Tutor Feature - Simon West

Simon worked as a full-time science teacher from 2013, and we're excited to have him joining us to provide science tuition online.
At university Simon achieved two 1st class distinctions in BSc (hon) Biology and Ecology and MSc Applied Ecology. He's no stranger to exams and stress management, and he knows what it takes to get your best results.
His main subject specialism is Biology, but he is also a GCSE Physics specialist and qualified to teach Chemistry up to GCSE standard.
Simon is passionate about enabling children of all walks of life to access free Education and has previously been on expeditions to Cambodia and Uganda to help provide teaching for rural communities with the charity Edukid.

We're excited to introduce Simon to more of our students through the GCSE Success Group Classes.

Feature - Jo Rees

Some of our students have the extra obstacle of dyslexia to over come as they face their exams. So I'd like to share the work of Jo Rees, who I have known for a little while through mutual connections.
Jo says "I teach what dyslexia REALLY is. Empowering teachers and parents support students fulfill potential".
You can find out more about her company, Another Way Round, on their Facebook page.

The Longitude Explorer Prize

Nesta Challenges' Longitude Explorer Prize is calling on young people across the UK to develop innovative AI solutions to society’s biggest issues.

The prize launches on the 23 September and this time, they're focusing on how helping Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) can help solve the most pressing problems facing society - how to live longer, live healthier, live together, and live greener.

With the support of the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the Longitude Explorer Prize is challenging young people across the UK to come up with innovative concepts which use A.I. technology for social good.

The aim is to stimulate young people's entrepreneurial and future skills and show how they have the power to create impactful solutions by applying STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) knowledge to innovation.

I’m excited to see what #AI solutions the young people taking part come up with! Applications are back open from now until 14 Feb, if you’re interested, you can apply here: http://bit.ly/LongitudeExplorer

A Small Request
These days, our customers come entirely from recommendations and referrals. This is really important to me, because it means we're making customers happy enough to tell their friends about us.
I'd love if you'd be able to do the same, to keep us growing.

Leave Us Some Feedback
Please remember to pay tuition invoices by the deadline. We understand that there may be some anomalies due to holidays etc but it is important to make payments promptly in order to secure your child's tuition time. Unpaid invoices may result in lessons being cancelled.
