Kia ora koutou,

The children are settling well into school routines and are working hard, despite the heat over the past couple of days. 3 days per week we are taking part in ‘Whānau time” which is where the whole school gets together at the end of the day to celebrate our learning and reflect on the day. This is done in the form of ‘Mindfulness’ and ‘Positive self-worth’. Yesterday was led by Mrs Lutton and the students really enjoyed relaxing and ‘being in the moment’. On Monday, Mrs Gleimius led us through some kids yoga which was a big hit.

Seesaw is up and running for the year and is a great access point for you to see what your child has been up to during their week at school. You have the opportunity to comment on your child’s work and they are all learning how to share their work with appropriate details around what they were doing/learning in that particular example.  Please let your teacher know if you have not yet received the information required to access your child’s learning journal.
 
A reminder that we have our Cyber Safety meeting next Wednesday night starting at 6.30pm.
 
Please note Kapa Haka is now every Friday.  Thank you to those who have offered to help with transport.

Our swimming programme has started off really well and will continue with a couple of days of coaching next week and then more coaching before our swimming sports day with Glentunnel on 5th March. A reminder to ensure your child has sunscreen applied and a rash top for swimming.

Student Details forms were sent home on Tuesday.  Please check if all details are correct or update as required.  All forms need to be signed and returned to the school office by this Friday.
 
Please ensure Scholastic Book Club orders are returned to school by 11th February. 
 
A reminder our first assembly is being hosted today by Ruru.  We look forward to seeing you there. The next assembly will be in a fortnight’s time and will be hosted by Kōhanga.
