A NOTE FROM OUR NEW BOARD MEMBER:
JANET CASAMENTO
“I'm excited to be joining the SVPP Board of Directors and will be focused on the overall marketing strategy for the organization. Most notably, I'll be leading a project to update the SVPP website and provide an overall update on all SVPP marketing materials. Additionally, I'll be working on adding some new marketing initiatives into the mix, including working on creating more original video content for SVPP. If you have any experience in any of these areas or know anyone who might be interested in helping us out, please email me at jcasamento@svpetproject.org!”

READY FOR ADOPTION
We need your help finding a home for Sheldon the dog and Milo the cat. They have been in foster care for some time now and we have no idea why, as they are such loveable furballs. Please be an SVPP Digital Advocate and share these pets profiles with your networks: on social media, at work, at the gym, in community gathering places, and any place where fellow pet lovers might be! Did you know that Nextdoor is a great place to post SVPP foster pets looking for a home? Together, let’s change Sheldon and Milo’s future.

DID YOU KNOW...
Did you know we have a new Cat Resources section on the SVPP website? We were lucky enough to partner with cat behavior consultant Jessica Char from Feline Engineering. Our new Dog Resources section is launching soon.

Did you know SVPP has a range of t-shirts, hoodies, and tank tops? Money raised from these chic items go towards helping to support homeless cats and dogs.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: MARIA WORKMAN
We are fortunate to have Maria Workman as one of our wonderful Volunteers. Maria helped us commemorate a selection of dogs that we adopted into loving homes during 2019, as part of our first annual "Rescued has many faces" campaign. We celebrate these pooches with limited edition t-shirts and accessories designed by Maria. 100% of the proceeds from these ‘Rescued has many faces’ items go towards SVPP’s life-saving work.

THE STORY OF A LOVING FOSTER
Andrea and William Lee adopted our famous Ruby the rescue dog in 2015. Ruby’s story was published in People Magazine after she saved her homeless owner from a harrowing machete attack — and lost an eye in the process. The Lee’s experience with adoption — Ruby, and then another rescue named Tilly — helped lead them to the loving and rewarding experience of fostering.

“When I got involved with SVPP, the Animal Care Manager suggested that adding a gentle foster pup might help Tilly to learn how to be a dog. What she didn’t tell me is how much the foster pups would bring to our family,” Andrea said.

“With SVPP’s help, I followed my heart for pit bull and staffy mixes. This has allowed us to pull fantastic dogs that might otherwise be overlooked. Each of my foster pups has been placed with amazing families who love them unconditionally. Thankfully, SVPP finds just the right, worthy families, so that I can let go...and then go back to the shelter to find another pup to foster. Fostering with SVPP has been a lovely experience,” she said.
DO YOU HAVE STORY TO TELL?
We are always looking for great content ideas for the SVPP Blog and guest dog bloggers for our Pup Plaza Blog. Contact Karen Zamel at karenz@svpetproject.org if you (or your pooch) would like to pitch in!
