Our #NYCagainstPRENDA campaign is ramping up. Later this month the City Council will hold a hearing on our resolution to oppose racist sex-selective abortion bans and we will have the opportunity to tell them why this resolution is important to our Asian, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander community and we need your help.
For too long, Asian immigrants and Asian Americans have been used as political tool to push ideas and laws without our consent. But we do have a voice and we will not let our stories, our lives and our communities be buried. When we speak out and share our experiences publicly, we take back control and help shape the world around us.
Throughout the country, racist myths about Asians are being used to pass harmful laws like, PRENDA (Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act) which push reproductive health care, like abortion, further out of reach for our community. Join us for our public testimony workshop where we will learn to share our stories and advocate for our communities. No prior experience is needed.
