The Big Game = Big Commericals
The price of a SuperBowl commercial isn't cheap, it can cost up to $5.6M for a 30 second spot. That's just for a 30 second spot. When you add in production, creative agency fees, talent fees, etc. the cost is well over $10M.

Companies put a lot of time and resources into SuperBowl commercials, lets look at the best and worst from this year...

BEST

Alexa- In this awesome ad, Amazon uses talent (Ellen Degeneres) to say "I wonder what people did before Alexa?". The ad then shows people from the past talking to Alessa or Alice, real people who do things Alexa does. The two funniest were a man asks a newspaper kid for the news and he says "it doesn't matter, it's all fake" and Richard Nixon asking Alicia to "delete those tapes".

Engaging ad, good jokes, good celebrity. Great SuperBowl ad, click below to watch.
Bud Light Seltzer- Bud Light takes us inside the mind of the most famous Bud Light drinker in the world, Post Malone. Post is known for loving Bud Light, but what about the seltzer? In this ad, we go deep into Post Malone's mind on his thought process to buy a seltzer. His little people in his head all have face tattoos and the commercial is funny throughout.

It advertises seltzer's to the beer drinking crowd in a fun way, watch out White Claw, Bud Light is coming for you.
Jeep- To show how different everyday can be in a Jeep, they hilariously spoof Groundhog Day with Bill Murray. Every morning, Bill is excited to wake up and see what new adventures he can go on in his new Jeep Gladiator. It also helps that the orange Jeep Gladiator looks like the coolest car ever.

Great ad, great references, showcases the product in an awesome way.

Worst

Facebook- I am the biggest fan of Facebook/Instagram/The Zuck but wow did they mess this up. In this commercial they are pushing Facebook Groups, a product no one cares about. They advertise obscure groups in attempt to get you to use the platform to join groups. The ad was very cringe and a complete flop.

Even worst, Facebook has the best advertising platform in the world and they spent A TON of money advertising on TV and YouTube, two platforms that are nowhere near as good as theirs. Weird move Zuck.
WeatherTech- I love dogs, but come on WeatherTech! In this 30 second spot, WeatherTech's product was not mentioned once! Instead, they told a story of a dog who had cancer and got cured. The call to action at the end was asking the viewer to donate to the University of Wisconsin's Vet School. WeatherTech's product was not featured once, I had to Google to see it was a floor mat.

Weird ad, no product featured and a lot of confusion.
Quibi- In this commercial, a few man rob a bank and are waiting for their pickup driver. They call the driver and he is watching a show on something called Quibi. The ad was pretty cringe, but even worse is Quibi isn't even out yet.  The service isn't being released until April 2020.

Spending millions advertising a product that hasn't come out yet? Bold move cotton, let's see if it pays off....
