The Jewish Music Institute is excited and proud to launch an innovative two day Judeo-Arabic music workshop and conference in London. This programme, which is a first in the UK, brings together an international group of experts for a two-day extravaganza to celebrate the richness of Judeo-Arabic music. JMI is preparing a line-up of international experts on Judeo-Arabic music for two full days of conferences and workshops which will include a concert featuring Judeo-Arabic celebrities.

A day exploring and celebrating the diversity of his music with Bloch specialist Dr Alexander Knapp; BBC Producer; and three internationally acclaimed musicians

Morning 11.00am- 1.00pm Masterclasses for students
Early afternoon 2.00pm – 2.45pm Talk on Bloch by Dr Alexander Knapp
2.45pm – 4.45pm Masterclasses for young professional musicians
Late afternoon 4.45pm – 5.45pm Interviews with the three artists on their connection to the music of Ernest Bloch
Evening 7.00pm – 9.20pm Gala Concert

Miriam Kramer will perform Violin Sonata no 2, Poème Mystique, 1924, with pianist Nicholas Durcan
Rivka Golani will perform the Viola Suite of 1919 with pianist Michael Hampton 
Raphael Wallfisch will perform Cello Symphony, 1954, with pianist Craig White 
Other works will be performed by some of the outstanding masterclass participants
