 April 24-26 is the time for some more Revolutionary Love - and this year it will be held at a UU church, All Souls, our flagship congregation in Washington DC! All Souls is a large, beautiful church with a reputation for - and long history of - great preaching, great music, and great work for justice and multicultural respect.
Revolutionary Love is going on the road to the nation's capital as part of a focus on the upcoming election. They will bring many of their usual highlight presenters, as well as a fresh group of powerful voices, to share insight, inspiration, and commitment towards joyful and faithful expressions of spirit and justice-making in our nation. This has been a transformative experience for many First U attendees, and we hope to have a good group of folks this year so we can bring the wisdom, uplift, and energy back with us to further infuse our own understandings and engagement here in Providence.

Washington is an easy trip by plane or train, and there is a range of lodging available near the church, including a host hotel with a discounted rate. The group registration rate for the conference is $269 per person (Rev. Liz does have funds available to help cover registration costs or room and board). There is also a $99. rate for students and justice activists, which you can register for individually. (Room and board are not included in the registration fee; these should be chosen by you according to your budget and preferences.)
Our deadline to register our group for the conference is Monday, February 10. Liz (click here) right away if you need some financial assistance to help cover costs.
We already have 8 First U attendees signed up to go this year, including Rev. Liz, Rev. Roger, DRE Cathy Seggel, and Music Director Fred Jodry. I hope you will look at all the information and think about whether this is the year for you to come - or to come again! It promises to be a very special experience, with a huge UU contingent coming from the many churches that surround the DC area. Join us for this spiritual and learning experience of renewal, challenge, and inspiration.
