This Sunday is our final sermon in the Faith & Film series -- if you haven't yet seen Jojo Rabbit (nominated for best picture at the Academy Awards) it is still showing at Cinemark West, Cielo Vista, and AMC 16, although with limited times.
Jojo Rabbit, (Feb. 9th)
Join us for Praise Band practice this Saturday from 2pm to 5pm and for Choir Practice this Sunday, February 9th from Noon to 2pm.  We'd love to have new voices singing with our choir, playing or singing with the praise band, performing a solo, or participating in any of our youth and children's music programs.  No prior experience or skill required, just a willingness to make a joyful noise to the Lord!
On Sunday, February 16th, along with our Annual Congregational Meeting, we will be having a Valentine's Brunch! Both will be taking place between services, at 10:00 a.m. in the Robert Young Centre! Bring your favorite "Brunch" type food to share with your church family. Some suggestions include: Breakfast burritos, Breakfast tacos, Tamales, Egg Casseroles, Breakfast Pizza, Bagels w/cream cheese, Fresh Fruit, Donuts, Pastries...the list goes on and on! Bring whatever you love and would like to share. We will see all our valentines on the 16th!
Calling all Scouts!  This year, we will be observing Scout Sunday on February 23rd.  All aspects of our 9am and 11am worship services will be led by cub scouts, boy scouts, and girl scouts.  If you are a scout (or scout parent) and would like to participate in Scout Sunday, please click here to sign up for a part!
As an outreach effort to connect with people in our community who are increasingly disconnected from churches, pastoral services, and traditional church rituals, Pastor Neal will be spending Ash Wednesday at Vitola's Cigar and Whiskey Lounge. Stop by (or invite someone you know) on February 26th from 12 noon to 10pm to receive the traditional imposition of ashes, a blessing, prayer, spiritual guidance, non-judgmental conversation, or drinks and cigars, if you're into that.  And if not, that's okay, too.  Must be 21 or older. Vitola's is loocated at 216 W. Franklin Ave., across from the ballpark.
Every Christian should be prepared not only to answer the questions that others may pose, but to help move them from seeking answers to seeking wisdom.  Christianity has great answers to the hard questions of faith, not just in the fact of Jesus’ resurrection but in the transformation it offers you and me—in this life and the next.”  Scott Jones & Arthur Jones: ASK: Faith Questions in a Skeptical Age.  Prayer requests for January: Three and continuing prayers.  Our pastors, staff and members stand ready to pray for your joys and concerns. If you would like pastoral prayer, please fill out a blue or brown prayer card and place it in the offering plate. To be added to our member-led prayer chain, contact the church office at 915-533-7551.
Gratitude is expressed for the life of Annabelle Johnson (2/4/2020) and sympathy to her husband, Travis and daughter, Heather.  Funeral arrangements are pending.
Wishing You A
