It seems that 2020 arrived without 'knocking' first - and many have started this year with loss, anxiety and worry - and not only because of the fires. But what we have also been witness to is the very best of community - whether in fighting fires, protecting others, completely selfless acts of service at times of great need and gestures of pure kindness and comfort. We are stronger together - and certainly time is calling for us to keep coming together, supporting each other in whatever ways we are able (even through calm thoughts) as we face whatever is on our doorstep - not waiting to knock!
Essential to holding strong over a long period of time, is the consistent care of the mind - so that it can sustain the level of compassion and kindness needed - and keep calm knowing that we do need to carry on; physical, mental and emotional strength can carry us so far... but spiritual strength (- strength of the inner being) takes us through to the next step and beyond and builds the resilience that we need.
Meditation is the practice of building this inner strength - so that I can form a solid foundation to support my other levels of resilience. If anything this year, we do encourage you to take care and protect your mind as a powerful support to health and wellbeing - at every level - yours and others.
We also return to the city every Thursday for the free weekly meditations at Federation Square, in the Atrium, starting this Thursday 6th February, 8.00 - 8.30am, in the Atrium. You are always welcome to contribute to this calm offering to yourselves and to the city - and at the same time build a consistent meditation practice. Please find details below and feel free to forward to friends too (they are able to join our mailing list here).
We look forward to navigating through 2020, building calm, peace, strength, love and community together with you.
