Do you lead a local Environmental Group? A City of Toronto Resource to help people find you!
The City of Toronto is working to launch a dedicated climate action website to support community engagement in Toronto this spring. As a part of this website, they will be creating an interactive map (and a searchable list) of local Toronto-based organizations that support climate action and environmental engagement. The hope is that residents will be encouraged to be more involved in community-based climate action if they are able to easily search and find local organizations / groups involved in this work.
If your organization would like to be included on the City of Toronto’s website, please fill out this form by Wednesday, February 5:
Here is a bit more information about this from The City's Environment and Energy Division:
- We will start mapping and reviewing the data that groups submit on February 5 but can continue to receive some more updated info from local groups until mid-February.
- We will only publish the information that groups are comfortable sharing with the public. The survey indicates fields that will be public. For any specific issues, groups can connect with me directly (contact information is below).
- The website's main focus is climate action. All groups who work to promote climate action and relevant behaviour change (transportation, energy efficiency, community engagement, waste management etc.) are welcome to submit their information.
Once the first version of the map is live (we are aiming for launch this spring) we hope to continue to receive updates from local community groups. We envision this as a continuously ongoing process as more groups form.
